Services: Extensions
The choice to extend your house may be born of necessity, luxury and for economical reasons.
We have experience with single and multi storey extensions each having their own considerations.; seamless interface to your existing property, that the property “flows” and that the available space is used effectively, that the extension is correctly structurally connected below, above ground and at roof level.
Recent commissions demonstrate an increased demand to create a larger family living area by extending the kitchen to the rear and/or side with the addition of large glazed doors and screens and roof lights.
Upper floor extensions allow for increased number of bedrooms and the addition of an en-suite or other bathroom.
Currently Planning restrictions are relaxed allowing for larger extension than are normal and these maybe undertaken under “permitted development” without the need for a planning application. Building Regulations still apply however.
Typically by extending your property you will increase the value of your home. The amount by which the value increases depends on the nature of the improvement. Extensions, loft and cellar conversions will yield the biggest return, followed by conservatories and garden rooms.
